occasionally something crops up that brings a big cheesy smile to my face; I'm not talking about a delivery from the postman or the latest beauty launch (well not today anyway) but something rather more special.
I was lucky enough to be a part of a beautiful project recently. the toyota postive campaign is a movement that uses the new toyota prius plug in hybrid to spread a little happiness and hopefully inspire others to come up with their own ways to do the same.
my positive story was to set up a vintage pop up shop in shoreditch and give away free vintage clothes, yes that's right, FREE CLOTHES!!! I was in actual heaven and my inner girl scout was rather happy too.
I can't begin to describe how much fun it was to surprise people and watch the reactions of passers by when they realised we were handing out clothing for no other reason than to make them smile!
we had so many beautiful clothes all hand picked and sourced for their bright colours! we had a huge range of hats, bags and accessories as well as clothing.
we wanted to surprise passers by and boxpark in shoreditch was a brilliant venue for my pop up shop!
I'm not going to lie it was damn hard to part with all the beautiful knitwear but seeing peoples excitement was just the encouragement I needed to hand them over!
the crew spent the day filming to document my story; mine is one of a range of positive ideas and each one has been turned into a docu ad to help spread the word and inspire people to do something positive in their community.
forgive me for being a mega geek but I just had to get a shot with the take board!
one of my favourite parts of the event was photographing all the lovely people to keep a record of the day! we also gave a polaroid to every customer to remind them of our positive movement long after it had finished.
and here's the story of my day on film.... eeeep!
there are some other brilliant 'positive ideas' and their videos on the toyota positive website. you can submit your own ideas to toyota as the car will be available for other people to bring their ideas to life too... vroom vroooom!
a big thank you to hayley and also dee, ollie & the team for being so darn wonderful and helping me get over my fear of being on camera aha!
heaven knows; I might finally brave the big scary world of making you tube videos! yikes!
