my love affair with denim is going strong, when it comes to wardrobe staples denim always gets a big tick from me.

I picked this patch pocket dress from new look denim collection as I thought it had a cute retro feel and would be pretty versatile. after eating my way through the festive season not having to wiggle my way into my skinny jeans was all the incentive I needed. it's fitted but loose enough to hide a multitude of festive binge eating sins, hallelujah.

the thing I love most about denim is how you can style up one piece in so many ways, this outfit is something I'd wear in the day but take off the hat and add a pair of heels and I'd wear it to grab a drink with my friends in the evening.

I also love sporting big furry coats this time of year- they're perfect for day to night wear (even if I do look like a yeti) plus this one is soft as a kitten so I'll always find an excuse to wear it..
